We collect and maintain personally identifiable information that you enter on this website in order to process orders, collect payments for items purchased, and ship those items to you. We may release your information to qualified third parties in the normal course of processing your order. Credit card information is not maintained on our website, but instead is handled by Square, a third-party payment processor. When you download the software (at https://drivers.alephboard.com), we will maintain the information you enter in order verify product ownership for an indefinite period. This allows you to download the software for your keyboard product(s) now, and again in the future if necessary. We may access any or all of this information to facilitate customer service and product support on your behalf.
Our website uses a commercial ecommerce package called WooCommerce which runs on top of WordPress. The package allows you to create an account with us for repeat orders. Honestly, we have no idea why you would do such a thing. It’s not like we’re Amazon or Etsy where we expect you to return week after week to buy some new bauble from us. While we’d love return business from you or your friends, we genuinely think our keyboards and keyboard stickers will last far longer than the time it will take you to create a sales account with us. (This is different than the software download credentials described in the paragraph above. Please DO use your real name and email address for that purpose. This will help us help you if you need to download the software again for a new computer.)
WooCommerce and WordPress, like most website software, creates cookies on your computer. Here is what they say about those delicious cookies and data carefully baked into their website software: If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you create a [sales] account or log in [to the sales account], we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. If you leave a review on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
We are too busy to be inventing reasons to email you with special offers, newsletters, and other ways to clog your in-box. That said, if we come across something really interesting, or we develop some hot new product we think relates to what you have already purchased, we might send you an email. Maybe. Or maybe not. Don’t hold your breath. If you need spam (kosher or not) to make you feel important and loved, you have come to the wrong place.
We are also too busy to pretend that the information we collect about our customers is somehow valuable to Internet mass marketers. We won’t be selling your name or doing anything else like that with the information we have about you, other than what has been described above.
We will release your personally identifiable information to law enforcement authorities only with legal and properly documented requests. So don’t do anything bad, OK?
